WMA songs will only work on Windows-based PC. MP3 files can be utilized on a Mac.

Here is a breakdown of the System Requirements your PC should conform to in order to download music from our site:

Operating System: Windows 98 SE and above (Windows 2000 and XP are fine),

Internet Connection: High Speed DSL or Broadband.

Media Player: Windows Media Player 7+

Internet Browse: Internet Explorer 5+ or Firefox 1.5+.

Other: Flash 8 installed, Cookies should be enabled.

If your system conforms to the above specification and you were unable to play the test file successfully, please email customer support at: musicstoresupport@aeroplan.com.

How can I find a file once it has been downloaded?(Back to Top)
To find a file once it has been downloaded, use the Search or Find option on your computer to locate the file. To bring up the search window click on the "Start" button and choose Search, or click on My Computer on the desktop and double click on the hard drive, or press Ctrl-F. Type *.wma in the search box that appears, and it will find all Windows Media Audio files on your computer. The file you just downloaded should be amongst the files listed.

The song I selected did not download to my computer. (Back to Top)
This may be due to an intermittent problem with the Internet or with temporary server downtime. If your download was not decremented from your total count, wait a short period of time, and try to download again. If your download count was decremented and you cannot find the file on your system please contact musicstoresupport@aeroplan.com.

My downloaded songs won’t play. (Back to Top)
You need to be online the first time you play a secure digital audio file so that the media player can obtain a license from us.. You should receive a license automatically when you purchase content or attempt to play it for the first time. If this has failed to happen, the licensing server may have been temporarily unavailable, or you may be having problems with your Internet connection and a license cannot be delivered to you. Please ensure the following:

· Your computer meets our minimum System Requirements (link to first item under help)

· The song has downloaded fully to your computer

· You have a working connection to the Internet

The license approved window keeps popping up when I try to play the song. (Back to Top)
Your browser or the song may not be communicating properly with your media player. This is common with Netscape and Windows Media Player or Winamp and Internet Explorer. The solution is to simply close the license window and press play on your media player.

The song stops playing and then starts again throughout it's entirety. (Back to Top)
This happens with dial-up connections because your connection can’t get the song data as fast as it’s being played. Download the song completely, before playing it to avoid this situation.

If the song has been downloaded and the issue persists, you may have too many applications running simultaneously. Free up some processing power by closing some applications, and attempt playing the song again.

How can I resolve song license corruption issues?(Back to Top)
Licensing issues for secure WMA downloads obtained from music.aeroplan.com will be displayed in license windows generated by your player. Corrupt secure song licenses may cause one of the following errors to be displayed when you try to play a secure WMA song:

· "There was a problem attempting to individualize your computer"

· "The license is invalid."

· “The license failed.”

· "Secure storage protection error. Restore your licenses from a previous backup and try again."

There are several possible causes for such problems, including:

· CPU change.

· Installing the hard drive on which music was initially downloaded in another computer.

· Products such as registry cleaners which may alter DRM (digital rights management) settings in ways that cause corruption .

To work around these issues, we highly recommend you backup your licenses onto a storage medium before making any of the three changes to your computer mentioned above. Next, when you are ready to try and recover your licenses from storage, make sure you first upgrade your browser and your player to the most up-to-date versions available.

Why don’t you support iTunes and Mac users? (Back to Top)
Mac currently does not support the playback of secure Windows Media files.

Also, secure WMA files are not compatible with iPod or iTunes (including iTunes player on PC).

Aeroplan Music Store does however offer many songs in MP3 format which are compatible with Macs. Please look for the MP3 graphic next to the track or album name.

How long does it take to download a song? (Back to Top)
The time required to download music to your computer depends on two factors; the size of the file, and the speed of your Internet connection. File size will dependant on whether the file is a single track or an entire album. Typical download rates for a 4 minute WMA track of 3.5MB size are:

28.8k modem = 20-25 mins
56.6k modem = 10-15 mins
ISDN = 5-10 mins
Cable / DSL / T1 = less than 1 min

Can I burn the music I buy to a CD? (Back to Top)
While MP3 files have no restrictions, each WMA music file you buy on our site has an associated license that controls how it can be used. To burn purchased WMA music to a CD, you must first listen to each song and allow the license to be delivered. We recommend that you listen to all the music you want to burn using the latest version of Windows Media Player to ensure proper playing and licence delivery for all files.

* Note: Your music is delivered to your computer as a compressed ZIP file. You will be prompted to save the ZIP file containing all your music. Save the file to a safe location. Unzip the file. If you do not have WINZIP, please visit http://www.download-zone-free.com/winzip/ to get the latest version.
